Life's been good here ... God is Good

Randy - Sunday, December 30, 2007, TOBlog
As we plan to depart the US, we are finding there are somethings we will really be missing.  Surprisingly, one of those things is the winter snow.  I know many of you in Wisconsin will (and have!) looked at us a little funny as our countenances have lit up as snow would be coming down.  A few weekends ago, the snow had turned to ice, the icy wind howled at 30 miles per hour, and the windshield of the car was thick with ice that needed to scrapped and hacked off before we could go to church. For a brief instant the 100 degree heat of Niger did not seem too bad!

There are other things that will weigh a little heavy on us as we leave.  There are many people here that have been such a blessing to us during our time here that we will have a hard time saying good-bye.  People who have, through the Lord's prompting, provided us with everything from a place to live, to a vehicle, to food, to an answer to medical bills, even to shoes and nice hot cup of latte on a cold winter's morning!

There are also those family and friends that have been going through trials, and though we will still be able to pray we will be distanced from them as far as encouraging them or trying to help them.  Among those are Wanda's mom who is struggling with health issues and Randy's dad who is rebuilding after a major fire to his home.  Pray that those that those that we care for here we will be able to trust God in his provision for them as well.

We will strive to update you yet before we go.  We are thankful for each of you.

Randy for us.
